ENGINEERING & TOOL DESIGN | IN-HOUSE TOOL DEPARTMENT
Engineering & Tool Design 
 
Much pride is taken in the Engineering and Tool Design department at Hansen Plastics Corporation. We love working with products at the early design stage and seeing them through to completion. Our in-house tool design utilizes the latest hardware and software technology, ensuring the best design possible.
 
Our Tool Design Engineering staff uses CADKEY® and SolidWorks software to design high quality, reliable molds. We recognize that injection molds are the heartbeat of HPC and represent a substantial capital investment for our customers. Here at HPC, we can import 2-D electronic files from CADKEY®, AutoCAD®, SolidWorks, or IGES formats. We can also import 3-D electronic files from CadKEY®, SolidWorks, NX (Unigraphics), IGES, STEP, and Parasolid formats.
 
At HPC, we utilize smart construction methods, ease of maintenance, cycle time optimization, and extended tooling life -- all of which are implemented into every mold design. Our customers benefit from our early supplier involvement as we tailor the part design to the ultimate mold construction and manufacturing process. Early supplier involvement with HPC yields savings and a solid manufacturing process.
 
 
 
In-House Tool Department
 
Hansen Plastics has a clear advantage over competition with our in-house tool department. We have full-time tool makers on staff to inspect and provide regular preventative maintenance, including: setup, maintenance, and changeover.
 
HPC’s tooling department utilizes ERP-IQMS systems to monitor molds in real time. ERP-IQMS detects minor issues associated with the mold. In addition, HPC maintains quality and consistency by using CMM Vision System to ensure highly accurate measurements are made of your part. Our 24” table gives us the capability to measure large parts and small parts with tight tolerances, allowing reduced costs for the customers by programming and having the product run freely without an operator to measure dimensions.
