Hansen Plastics Corporation Receives Silver Partner Award from The Salvation Army

Striving to be a positive light in the community in which HPC is located, part of Hansen Plastics Corporation’s mission is to support local charities to give back to the community.  It is in this spirit that the employee-owners of HPC volunteer through the Salvation Army, Elgin Corps for various activities during the Christmas holiday season.

In 2024, the employee owners of HPC “rang the bell” for both All-Volunteer Day and “Ring for Eight, Feel Great”.  All volunteer day is always on a Saturday and the CEO of HPC can usually be found delivering hot chocolate and coffee to the HPC ringers on volunteer day, if he isn’t ringing the bell himself.  You can pick your bell ringing day for “Ring for Eight” and HPC always picks a week day for this one, allowing the bell ringing employees paid time away from the plant for their bell ringing shift.

HPC has been a consistent bell ringing volunteer since 2019, when they created HPC Cares, an employee run committee that finds and organizes HPC’s charitable efforts through Salvation Army and other community partners such as the Kane County Senior Council, LGBTQ+ Center at Kenneth Young, local youth sports and many other activities.

Hansen Plastics’ employee-owners always look forward to the Angel Tree program run through the Salvation Army.  Individuals or groups of individuals take a tag off the HPC Family Christmas tree and purchase the gifts listed on the tags for children in need.  Volunteers then don Santa hats or reindeer antlers to make the delivery to the Salvation Army facility.

HPC also participates in the virtual kettle program, an online version of the red kettle, to allow people who may not be able to get to a physical kettle or who may prefer to use a credit card, to donate to this very worthy cause.

It is due to these efforts that Hansen Plastics Corporation was honored to be awarded the Silver Partner Award for Christmas Partner Recognition for 2024.
