“The opportunity Hansen Plastics Corporation has extended to the Mid-Valley Special Education Cooperative is truly a dream come true. Hansen is a community dedicated to quality for people as well as the production of a top-quality product. This commitment to a positive work environment, as well as their willingness to “think outside the box” opened the world of manufacturing to a population of potential new employees who previously could not see inside the doors. Hansen has graciously accepted our young adults with disabilities and allowed them to build work stamina over time as opposed to requiring a full 40-hour week immediately. Hansen has offered an array of custom-designed internship experiences empowering our young adults to learn employable skills with the support of a job coach on site and a Hansen employee mentor close at hand. Additionally, they have supported our young adults in developing interviewing skills through their eager participation in our mock interviews and mock job fair. At Hansen Plastics Corporation we have found a willing business partner who shares our vision for a brighter future for our community. The feedback from our parents, community and district partners has been extraordinary. As a team, we believe that Hansen Plastics Corporation sets the standard for helping others understand the power of inclusion. ” -Meg Bingham, Vocational Facilitator, Mid-Valley Special Education Cooperative
